CONSUL GENERAL VISITS THE KIRKLARELI PROVINCE

On April 22, 2026, the Consul General of Georgia in Istanbul, Aleksandre Jishkariani, paid a working visit to Kırklareli Province to explore opportunities for cooperation with local authorities within the consular district.

During the meeting with the Governor of Kırklareli, Uğur Turan, discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in the fields of economy, culture and tourism. Particular emphasis was placed on enhancing collaboration between the Consulate General and relevant local institutions to ensure effective consular protection for Georgian citizens.

The visit also included a meeting at the Kırklareli Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where the parties exchanged views on promoting trade, economic ties and investment opportunities.

The Consul General visited also the Dereköy border crossing point on the Turkey–Bulgaria border and met with the Head of the Border Service. The parties reaffirmed their readiness to maintain active communication and further strengthen cooperation between the Consulate General and the Turkish border authorities.
